Here are some pictures of the tree cutting.
For some reason, it started dying, and was unloading huge numbers of dead leaves on our driveway and on all my "patio" plants.Fortunately for us, Gary Stivland helped (organized us, told us what to do!) Bill Durham came by for a while and lugged branches out to the street - a huge help as well.
I'm not sure why this blogspot uploads pictures at the top but it does. The picture with Jeff shows the pile of detritus - pretty impressive. I'm sure we didn't realize the tree was soooo big. The branches were amazingly heavy - I expected them to be light like the dead ones that fall down. Wrong!
Also, when I unloaded one group of branches at the street, a twig snagged my camera. I realized that the camera had fallen out of my pocket, so naturally looked on the ground. Couldn't find it! Jeff eventually found the camera hanging from the dead tree branches. That booger tried to get me back, I guess, for eliminating the tree from our yard.
You'll note by the up-close picture of Jeff with the stump that this tree had really gotten big.
I've been in mourning - there was NO trash on our driveway this morning. All the dead leaves PLUS the blossoms had really been making a mess. No more.
